Scott Riedel
Licensure: Mr. Riedel is licensed to practice law in the State of New Mexico, and has been in practice for 20 years.
Education: Mr. Riedel obtained his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 1985. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Texas State University in 1978 with a major in German and minors in History and Chemistry. He attended the National Criminal Defense College, Mercer Law School, Macon, Georgia, for post-graduate training in criminal defense. While in law school, he was a student instructor for the S.M.U. Criminal Clinic.
Areas of Legal Emphasis: Mr. Riedel’s areas of legal emphasis are Criminal Law and Complex Civil Litigation.
Present and Former Memberships: Mr. Riedel was on the faculty for the New Mexico Public Defender’s Trial Advocacy Clinic. He received the First Judicial District Defender award for the year 2000.
Prior Associations and Experience: Since graduating from law school, Mr. Riedel has worked primarily in the area of adult and juvenile criminal defense. His job experience includes misdemeanor and felony litigation. He was a felony trial attorney and district defender for the New Mexico Public Defender’s Office.
